I live in one of the most wonderful and peaceful places on earth, and it's a shame to waste it all on one person, right? So... why not share it with those who need something like this the most...the abused and traumatized among us. I've had a brief taste of what it feels like to be on the run and alone with small children and nowhere safe to go, that is a terrible place to be.

This farm is hidden and remote in a little valley at the end of a long canopied road with no immediate neighbors, surrounded by high ridges and hardwood forest. A person could feel safe and protected here, so why not create a safe house for those women and children needing to be removed immediately from a dangerous domestic situation? There is plenty of room here, and the property is well guarded :)

My children are grown and have homes of their own, what else am I going to do with this place? Life has been great to me; many, many kind strangers have extended a helping hand when I needed it most, so it's appropriate to help someone else at a low point in their own lives. The creation of a safe haven has become my pet project, and hopefully I'll live to see it to fruition.
